Meet Morgan Hudson
Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about me. My name is Morgan Hudson, and I’m running because I believe strong communities are built by people who live here, work here, and care deeply about the future of our district. I’ve spent my life in Delaware—raising my family, building a small business, and giving back to the community that has given so much to me. I’m committed to practical, community-focused leadership that puts people first and keeps our neighborhoods strong.
I’ve chosen to raise my family in this district because it has always been home. I am a lifelong Delawarean, born and raised in the Frederica and Milford area, and a proud graduate of St. Thomas More Academy in Magnolia. Delaware has long been the ideal place to raise a family, so after college I returned home to join my family’s construction cleaning business—an operation that has proudly served our state for more than 30 years.
Our company specializes in commercial projects that support our communities, including hospitals, police stations, schools, and other essential facilities. We provide labor, professional cleaning, floor restoration, and floor sealing services. Over the past 19 years, I’ve worn many hats within the company and now serve as Vice President and Head of Human Resources, overseeing payroll, insurance, and both government and private contracts. With a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from Cabrini University, I’m grateful to bring my education back home and help grow the family business we deeply cherish.
Alongside our construction business, I’ve managed rental properties for about 15 years. I enjoy the remodeling process and the relationships that come with property management, which led me to start my own rental portfolio eight years ago. I’m passionate about helping people navigate their real estate journey and believe local, “mom-and-pop” landlords play a vital role in keeping our communities strong.
Community service is at the heart of who I am. I am currently serving my sixth year on the Kent County Board of Adjustment, where I also serve as Vice Chair. In this role, we listen to property owners, review appeals, and ensure the public’s voice is heard. Some of our most notable cases have involved solar farm hearings and property revitalization efforts. I believe in smart growth—using what we already have, so long as development does not seriously impact neighboring properties.
I also serve as President of the Board of Directors for the Frederica Senior Center. This role has deepened my understanding of the challenges many seniors face and the powerful difference a strong community center can make. Too many seniors in our district experience real hardship, but they should never have to face their golden years alone. The Frederica Senior Center provides a safe place to enjoy meals, access vital services, and build meaningful connections. I’m incredibly proud of our dedicated staff and believe that with increased state support, we can help even more seniors. In partnership with the Food Bank of Delaware, we also operate an on-site food pantry that is open to anyone in need. If you or someone you know could use assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. The food pantry is open Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
If elected, my priorities will be clear and focused on the people of our district:
Small Businesses – I’ve lived the struggle of rising taxes, skyrocketing insurance costs, and endless red tape. We need to cut unnecessary bureaucracy, connect business owners with real resources, and allow local businesses to grow and create good-paying, stable jobs right here at home.
Family Farms – Our farmers are being squeezed by rising costs and property taxes. I will fight to increase farmland preservation funding and raise awareness so future generations can continue these traditions rather than being forced to sell.
Seniors – Our seniors built this community. They deserve dignity, respect, and access to the services they’ve earned.
Education – Strong schools lead to a stronger workforce and brighter futures for our children. We must improve outcomes for students and families alike.
Healthcare – Families should not have to wait months for a doctor’s appointment or travel out of state for care. I will work tirelessly to attract and retain doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals so Delaware families receive timely, quality care.
Public Safety- Public safety in Delaware means supporting our local police, fire companies, and EMS while strengthening the neighborhoods and small towns that make our state such a great place to live.
These priorities are not just policy positions—they are personal. The small businesses that sponsor Little League teams, the farm stands we grew up visiting, and the seniors who wave as you drive by are the heart of our community. When we support them, our local economy grows, jobs stay here, and Delaware remains the special place we’re proud to call home.
I’m running because I’ve lived the challenges our families face, and I know we can do better—together. I would be honored to earn your trust and represent you and your family in Dover.

Are We Unintentionally Leaving Our Seniors Behind?
Technology has made many parts of our lives easier but I'm increasingly concerned that in our rush to move everything online and modernize our services, we're leaving some of our seniors behind.
Healthcare portals, banking, electric bills, government services, appointments, applications more and more of everyday life requires a computer, smartphone, email address, or online account. Some companies even charge customers extra just to receive a paper bill.
Recently, I was given a copy of a Notice of Intent to discontinue traditional copper-based home telephone service from a senior in our district. I understand that customers can still keep their home phone number and transition to newer technology, but we also have to understand that change can be scary, especially for someone who has relied on the same type of home phone service for decades.
Not every senior has a smartphone or computer. Not everyone is comfortable navigating websites, remembering passwords, setting up new equipment, or recognizing which emails and links are legitimate. And most importantly, not every senior has a child, grandchild, friend, or family member nearby who can help them.
We need to ask ourselves: Are we unintentionally cutting seniors off from essential services by forcing everyone to adapt to technology?
I'm not against technology or progress. But convenience for some shouldn't become a barrier for others.
Our seniors deserve the ability to speak to a real person, receive important information on paper, pay their bills without being penalized for not going digital, and access healthcare, utilities, banking, and government services without needing someone else to navigate technology for them.
As we continue moving toward a digital world, we cannot forget the generations who built the communities we enjoy today.

Bullying is never okay and will not be tolerated: One of the most important parts of door knocking is listening.
Over the past several weeks, I’ve heard from multiple parents and grandparents who have shared heartbreaking stories about their children and grandchildren being bullied at school or on the school bus. What concerns me most is hearing parents say they reported what was happening but felt like nothing was being done.
Our children deserve to feel safe when they go to school. Parents deserve to know that when they report bullying, their concerns are being taken seriously, properly documented, and thoroughly investigated.
I will not tolerate bullying. I want to make sure our existing laws and policies are actually being followed and that parents know where to turn when they feel they aren't getting answers.
Sometimes we don't need another law… we need to make sure the laws already on the books are working for the families they're supposed to protect.
I will continue listening to our neighbors, advocating for our families, and making sure their voices are heard. Our kids deserve to learn without being afraid to go to school. Protecting women’s sports is personal to me.
I grew up playing sports, sometimes nearly five different sports in a single year. Sports were a huge part of my life, and I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play soccer at Cabrini College. I loved the competition, the friendships, and being part of a team.
In high school, our girls’ soccer team would sometimes scrimmage against a boys’ team for practice. During one of those games, I was playing forward against a male defender who couldn’t keep up with my speed. Instead of making a soccer play, he tackled me like we were playing football. I was seriously injured and taken from the field by ambulance.
I thought I had recovered and moved on. But nearly two decades later, while I was pregnant with Wyatt, I needed a fetal MRI. During that process, I learned that I still have a lifelong injury from that accident…. something I probably never would have discovered without having an MRI.
That experience has stayed with me, and it’s one of the reasons I believe so strongly in protecting women’s sports.
Women and girls deserve the opportunity to compete in athletic categories designed for them. This isn’t about hate or disrespect toward anyone. It’s about fairness, safety, and protecting the opportunities generations of female athletes fought hard to achieve.
I know firsthand how one moment on the field can have consequences that last a lifetime. As a former female athlete and now a mom, I will always stand up for fairness and safety in women’s sports. #votehudson #StateRep #netde
